About Taleb

Founded 1920, Taleb Grotto is one of six Grottoes in Massachusetts. It endeavors to have fun, unique social experiences each month with a catered dinner provided for Prophets (Grotto members) and their Ladies. Past social activities have included a pound auction, themed game nights, prank auction, a luau, and a murder mystery. Taleb is proud to have its ladies participate in the Taleb Grotto Ladies Auxiliary, which supports Taleb and its Prophets and raises funds for the Humanitarian Foundation, the official charity of Grottoes International.
Taleb has a strong presence in Grottoes International, with five Past Grand Monarchs, the international head of all Grottoes, in its membership.
Taleb meets on the third Friday of the month at the Quincy Masonic Building.

About The Grotto
The Grotto, officially known as The Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm (M.O.V.P.E.R.), is a social organization founded in 1889 open to all Master Masons in good standing. It is primarily an organization for good, wholesome fun, with the slogan “Good Fellowship”. While its membership is restricted to Master Masons, it is not a part of Symbolic Craft Masonry.
The Grotto is the playground for Master Masons. It represents the spirit of all Masonry and a commitment to living a wholesome life, seeking to bring light to moments of sorrow, discouragement, and grief. Without the formalities of Masonic Degrees, it embodies fraternity between members.
The Humanitarian Foundation

Taleb raises funds for The Humanitarian Foundation, the official charity of Grottoes International. Created in 1949, the Foundation conducts the Dental Program for Special Needs Children for the Grottoes. This program brings “Special Smiles” to children under 21 with special needs by covering the cost of dental treatment and anesthesia, whether in a hospital or dental office. Conditions include Cerebral Palsy, neuromuscular disorders such as Muscular Dystrophy, and intellectual disabilities, including Down syndrome, as well as organ transplant recipients needing dental care pre- or post-transplant.
